St. Johann in Tyrol (670 meters above sea level) is situated in the middle of the Leukental valley that stretches all the way from Jochberg to the Bavarian border. With its 8,300 inhabitants, St. Johann is the commercial centre as well as the tourism centre of the region, boasting 4,500 guest beds of all differing categories.
In the summer, St. Johann-in-Tyrol primarily scores points with its excellent infrastructure which further upgrades and supports this top regional location for cyclists, mountain bikers and walkers. In the winter, with 17 cable cars and ski lifts on the snowy side of the Kitzbuehel Horn, the St. Johanner inclines boast around 60 piste skiing kilometres that cater for all difficulty levels.
